IPTV Buffering Reddit: Why and How to fix Buffering? (+ A Lazy Solution)

Buffering…buffering… buffering… IPTV, here we have 5 steps for you to diagnose and fix the buffering correctly. IPTV Buffering Reddit is one of the hottest search terms. That’s why we decided to answer it thoroughly in our blog.

IPTV buffering is a common problem that a lot of people face. It’s actually pretty common. Sometimes the solution is to just move your TV to a little closer to wifi. Yeah! that’s right. Other times, it’s the ISP throttling- you need to either add a VPN service to your subscription or just change the VPN server location, increase or decrease internet connection speed.

You must be thinking….seriously. You may have thought it was your IPTV service provider’s fault which can totally be the case. But you have to make sure, you’re good on your end.

Here are 5 steps (collected from IPTV experts and Reddit threads) to check and troubleshoot buffering/ choppy/ freezing IPTV

———- But…If you’re too lazy, then don’t worry, I have a solution for you too. Scroll to the end of this post to see the lazy solution. :) ———-

So…the big lesson here is that all IPTV services are more or less buffer. It’s okay to switch services and but make you’ve everything set up at your end so that if it’s the provider who is at fault here, they can fix it from their end.

Here are the five steps to fix IPTV buffering:

1. Changing IPTV Player APP Setting to Hardware

This gold mine of the post is 3 years but still relevant.

I know my isp provider personally. However the 3 or 4 iptv providers I’ve tried now. Buffer. Annoyingly.

We’ll answer them one by one:

  1. Most buffering problem is just stability problem. For Nvidia Shield user there’s setting that not many people don’t know about. Go to your smarter app settings and change the palyer setting to hardware. The literally change will be Night-And-Day for stability on the app. (Greencon10 one of the commenter pointed this out. And he/she is right not many resellers know about this.)
  2. Yes, it’s common to see drop in quality. But then you’ve to let your IPTV service provider know that you’re facing some issues and they’ll either fix to even change your server. A good service provider will have mulitple sometimes 100 servers at their disposal. (We recommend Gio IPTV)
  3. This can depend a lot on your preferences there’s no one size fit all. Your service provider should be able to help you with that. One great things about Nvidia Shield is that they have ethernet port, so you should use that to hardwire internet connection. You’ll troubleshoot a lot of problems this way.
  4. REVOLUTIONARY TIP: trying increasing buffer sizes in Nvidia. (Not many people know about this.)

This removes the very well-known Kodi crash problems with the Shield as well. Here’s what you do:

  1. Open/activiate the developer modus on the Shield
  2. Under developer settings in the Shield menu go to BUFFER LOGGER
  3. Increase the BUFFER LOGGER to maxium (or less, see what works for you.)
  4. Thats it!

You can thank me in the comments section below this post. :)

2. Add VPN or Change VPN Server Location

(For all of these problems, you can use the steps given above, if that doesn’t come back here and use these steps.)

Normal internet speed tests may trick you into thinking that everything is ok. (read this post for more info). In this case add a good VPN service and re-run the test again, if your connection is noticably faster than the first test while using the VPN, you can be certain now that your ISP is likely throttling your IPTV service.

How can you stop the throttling?

Use a VPN to bypass ISP throttling. (Want to know what VPN is best for IPTV? Click here) The VPN will create ecure and encrypted connection for your IPTV connection.

However, some ISPs may throttle even after that. If your ISP detects you’re using a VPN. Some good VPNs like the ones can ignore this. Wrong ones or free ones will just make the matter worse.

Besides that, you may want to think about these options:

Like we said before a good VPN with provide encrypted as well as a dedicated tunnel connection so that you can stream/ use IPTV smoothly. Here are 3 VPN recommendations that work great with IPTV.

If you’re still facing buffering issues with good VPN and good IPTV service provider, then monitor when this happens (at peek hours or off-peek hours) try changing your VPN location. This work wonders sometimes.

There you go. These are some of the effective ways to get rid of IPTV buffering for good.

Finally….

(No worries. We respect lazy geniuses like you.)

Here’s the Lazy Solution to your IPTV Buffering Problems:

Switch.

Most IPTV service providers provide 24 hour FREE Trials for their new customers. Switch and use one of the other IPTV (we recommend Gio IPTV) and see if to see if it works better for you, it may help you determine if it’s actually your service provider and save yourself the 2-3 hours of sweating, huffing, and puffing. :)

I know you like me a lot, right now. So, here’s the link to
Gio IPTV and if you’re tired of buffering, try switching.
