So…the big lesson here is that all IPTV services are more or less buffer. It’s okay to switch services and but make you’ve everything set up at your end so that if it’s the provider who is at fault here, they can fix it from their end.

Here are the five steps to fix IPTV buffering:

1. Changing IPTV Player APP Setting to Hardware

1. Most buffering problem is just stability problem. For Nvidia Shield user there’s setting that not many people don’t know about. Go to your smarter app settings and change the palyer setting to hardware. The literally change will be Night-And-Day for stability on the app. (Greencon10 one of the commenter pointed this out. And he/she is right not many resellers know about this.)
   
2. Yes, it’s common to see drop in quality. But then you’ve to let your IPTV service provider know that you’re facing some issues and they’ll either fix to even change your server. A good service provider will have mulitple sometimes 100 servers at their disposal. (We recommend Gio IPTV)
   
3. This can depend a lot on your preferences there’s no one size fit all. Your service provider should be able to help you with that. One great things about Nvidia Shield is that they have ethernet port, so you should use that to hardwire internet connection. You’ll troubleshoot a lot of problems this way.
   
4. REVOLUTIONARY TIP: trying increasing buffer sizes in Nvidia. (Not many people know about this.)

This removes the very well-known Kodi crash problems with the Shield as well. Here’s what you do:

1. Open/activiate the developer modus on the Shield
2. Under developer settings in the Shield menu go to BUFFER LOGGER
3. Increase the BUFFER LOGGER to maxium (or less, see what works for you.)

2. Add VPN or Change VPN Server Location

(For all of these problems, you can use the steps given above, if that doesn’t come back here and use these steps.)

• Run a VPN-ISP test to see if your ISP (Internet service provider) is throttling or not.
  

Normal internet speed tests may trick you into thinking that everything is ok. (read this post for more info). In this case add a good VPN service and re-run the test again, if your connection is noticably faster than the first test while using the VPN, you can be certain now that your ISP is likely throttling your IPTV service.

How can you stop the throttling?

However, some ISPs may throttle even after that. If your ISP detects you’re using a VPN. Some good VPNs like the ones can ignore this. Wrong ones or free ones will just make the matter worse.

Besides that, you may want to think about these options:

• Pay for more quality bandwidth.
• Upgrade or switch to ISP with a higher data cap or unlimited data or without data caps.
• Switch to a provider without data caps.
• Monitor your speed during peek and off-peek hours. Inform your ISP if you’re consistantly seeing low download or upload speed.
  

• Invest in a good VPN
